My name is Sam Parr
I moved to San Francisco in 2012 from Tennessee.
In Tennessee, while in college, I had a chain of hot dog stands. I parlayed this into e-commerce stores.
Soon, I left college and moved to San Francisco to start a company. There were lots of ups and downs, but eventually it sold! Not for much, but hey, it kind of worked.
After that, I started Hustle Con, a TED like conference for entrepreneurs.
To land speakers, I cold emailed all of them. And it worked! And to get attendees I...started a weekly newsletter about the speakers. Shockingly, it worked!
I had to the idea for the event and 40 days later it happened. Nearly 400 people came and it made tens of thousands of dollars in profit. I was shocked.
So, I did it again. And then again! Now, a few years later, tens of thousands of people have attended my events and hundreds of big name CEOs have spoke.
I also turned that weekly email into The Hustle, a daily business news email with well over a million subscribers, dozens of employees and well into the 8-figures in annual revenue.
And it all started because of one skill: my ability to email people effectively!
