An Invitation from Dr. van der Kolk...

The field of traumatic stress is only about 30 years old, and enormous strides have been made to clarify its basic mechanisms and develop a large variety of treatment approaches appropriate for various forms of trauma and developmental levels.

We have learned how trauma at different ages, particularly relational trauma, affects a variety of psychological and brain processes, and that intervention needs to occur on multiple levels: social, psychological, relational, somatic, relational and biological. We also now know that affect regulation, the establishment of agency, and interpersonal safety form the foundation of recovery.

This evolving course, now in its 15th year, brings together some of the world’s leading experts on the variety of aspects of trauma processing and intervention, to provide you with the skills to implement these developments in your work.

This year we are particularly pleased to have expanded the faculty to include some of the leading experts on the Polyvagal Theory, Stephen Porges; Internal Family Systems Therapy, Dick Schwartz; and advanced yoga practices, Matthew Sanford.

Join us to gain a comprehensive view of Traumatic Stress, including the art and science of its nature and treatment, from childhood through adulthood.
